Cities and Urban Life
We investigate how cities and urban areas are being transformed during a period of rapid urbanisation, global environmental change, and technological advancement.
This work examines the impacts of economic and political restructuring, as well as growing social and economic inequality, on urban environments.
Our research explores the social, cultural and more-than-human diversity of cities, including:
- Changing geographies of housing and home, work and labour
- Mobilities
- Activism
- Urban natures and materialities.
We are committed to progressive social change in cities through theoretical and applied research that informs the work of governments, Non-Government Organisations and social movements, and advances urban justice, care ethics, sustainability, and resilience.
