We are committed to enriching and communicating knowledge within the areas of climate, weather and geological sciences, and to making important contributions to the creation of just societies and sustainable environments.
As well as our teaching and research, we pursue this goal through our broader engagement with community, industry, government, national and international organisations and the scholarly community – including many high schools in the Melbourne region.
Australian community engagement
Engaging with community groups and in public conversations to generate and share knowledge and experiences is central to our practice.
International engagements generating vibrant teaching, research, organisational and community networks underpin our approach to a globally engaged geographical scholarship.
We work closely with industry, government and civil society in a diverse range of areas, including collaborative research, support for student projects and prizes, geological surveys and the provision of analytical and consulting services.
