Ilan is a member of the Disability Housing Futures (DHF), a national working group that explores solutions for the shortage in affordable, secure and appropriately designed and located housing for people with a disability in Australia. The members of DHF include high profile leaders in the community housing sector, disability services and advocacy groups. As a member of DHF, Ilan contributes to the research activities undertaken by the group, including estimation of the gap in supply of affordable housing, assessment of the social and economic consequences of failing to address the problem, and evaluation of the potential impact of different housing and policy solutions. His work has received much attention in recent housing and disability policy debate, and we hope will continue to inform policy development and practice in this area.
