Proseq Silver Schmidt Hammer
The Silver Schmidt Concrete Test Hammer (Type L) is a low impact rebound hammer suitable for brittle objects and materials less than 100mm thick. By administering an impact via a spring-loaded plunger the device can measure the rebound resilience and surface hardness of a sample surface. From this the compressive strength and weathering grade of a rock sample can be estimated. Whilst designed for concrete testing, this instrument can also be used on a range of geological materials.
The device is currently housed at the University of Melbourne, but can be easily transported off-site for field use.
